Percy House Gallery in Cockermouth, I had the pleasure of exhibiting my Paintings and Prints. Managed by the delightful Karen and Viv, the gallery became a second home. Their genuine passion for the artwork they showcase is evident, making the gallery not just a space but a heartfelt experience. I cherished my time here and was saddened to bid farewell upon my move to the South of England.

Opening its doors in May 2002, Percy House Gallery resides within a 14th-century historic building, a treasure trove hidden from public view for over two decades. Stepping inside feels like entering a time capsule, with the enchanting Tudor ceiling, fireplaces, and plasterwork creating an ambience of old-world charm. The gallery’s selection is as diverse as it is captivating, featuring works by talented Cumbrian and British artists. From exquisite jewellery and textiles to intricate ceramics, captivating paintings, and evocative photographs, there’s something for every art enthusiast.
Venturing further into the gallery, visitors are greeted by the downstairs rooms, each exuding its unique character. The oak beams, dating back to 1390, add to the gallery’s rustic allure, complemented by the enduring original flagstone floor. Ascending the stairs, one steps into a realm frozen in time. The Tudor ceiling, a masterpiece dated 1598, once sheltered the Percy bailiff. Divided into three rooms, the upstairs area breathes history, inviting visitors to wander and wonder.
