The Secret Barn, What a fantastic beginning to 2024! I discovered a charming cafe near Lincoln that made my New Year celebration truly memorable. Joining my friends Clare and Mel at Tea at Lil Maggies and The Secret Barn in North Muskham, Newark, we indulged in a delightful breakfast feast.
The Perfect New Year Breakfast Bash
To kick off the new year, we were treated to a special breakfast spread at this hidden gem. The menu featured a mouthwatering full breakfast for me, complete with locally sourced bacon, egg, sausage, fried potatoes, mushrooms, tomatoes, and baked beans, all served with perfectly toasted bread.
A Toast to 2024 with Bucks Fizz The Secret Barn
Adding to the celebration, the cafe’s New Year offer included Bucks Fizz to complement our breakfast, making the occasion extra special. Unfortunately, Mel’s partner Michael couldn’t join us due to work commitments, but we raised a glass in his absence.

The ladies opted for the Egg Benedict with ham hock, a culinary masterpiece featuring poached eggs on ham hock, nestled on an English toasted muffin, and smothered in hollandaise sauce with a sprinkle of fresh herbs. The food, piping hot and beautifully presented, exceeded our expectations. Alongside the Bucks Fizz, we enjoyed a delightful pot of tea for two and a freshly brewed coffee, enhancing the overall experience.
