A Spanish Sojourn Roses to Vinuela, Discovering Coastal Splendors
90 Day Campervan European Trip Spain Part Two. Embarking on a captivating expedition from the coastal beauty of Roses in Girona, Spain, to the serene shores of Vinuela, our journey promises a mosaic of Spanish charm and scenic wonders. Starting in Roses, with its sun-drenched beaches and ancient ruins, our adventure leads us to Figueres, a town celebrated as the birthplace of Salvador Dali and home to the renowned Dali Theatre Museum. Moving south, we explore the quaint seaside town of L’Ametlla de Mar, famed for its pristine beaches and fresh seafood, before venturing to Reus, the birthplace of the great architect Antoni Gaudi. Our voyage then takes us to the chic beach town of Sitges, where vibrant festivals and artistic ambience define the atmosphere, followed by the ancient Roman city of Tarragona, adorned with well-preserved ruins and a bustling waterfront.
From Coast to Culture, Exploring Spain’s Diversity
Continuing our journey, we experience the lively energy of Salou, known for its thrilling theme parks and vibrant nightlife, before arriving in Alicante, where historic castles overlook stunning beaches and palm-lined promenades. Heading further south, we discover the tranquil shores of Balerma in Almeria, offering a serene escape amidst almond groves and azure waters. Finally, we reach the charming town of Torrox, known for its white-washed houses and scenic views of the Mediterranean Sea. Each destination along this route is a treasure trove of Spanish delights, from art and history to sun-soaked beaches and delectable cuisine. Figueres Girona Spain European Trip
Figueres is a charming town in the Girona province of Spain, located just a short drive from the French border. As the birthplace of surrealist artist Salvador Dalí, it’s no surprise that the town is home to the famous Dalí Theatre-Museum, a must-visit attraction for art lovers.
L’Ametlla de Mar Spain European Trip
The lovely L’Ametlla de Mar Costa Dorada is a charming coastal town located in the province of Tarragona, Spain. Thirty minutes drive South of Salou. We arrived and parked in the harbour car park which was free of charge. There are a few car parks around the town. From here we walked around the fishing harbour and then along the coastal path South. We didn’t do a massive walk, turning around after about 35 minutes in the direction of town. 90 Day Campervan European Trip Spain Part Two
Monastery of Santa Maria de Poblet
The Monastery of Santa Maria de Poblet is a stunning example of Catalan Gothic architecture. Founded in the 12th century, it has played an essential role in the religious and cultural history of the region.
Initially established as a Cistercian abbey, the monastery underwent significant renovations in the 14th century, giving it the distinct Gothic style still visible today. The cloister, in particular, is a masterpiece of Gothic architecture.

We visited L’Espluga de Francolí which is a charming Town located in the province of Tarragona, Spain. This picturesque destination is home to various tourist attractions that cater to all types of travellers. The Town is next door to Monasterio de Santa María de Poblet.
