As a dedicated food enthusiast. My recent dining experienceleft me utterly amazed and satisfied. From the cosy ambience to the impeccable service, every aspect of this restaurant was nothing short of exceptional. However, what truly stole the show were the extraordinary dishes that graced our table.

Lancashire Cheese Fritter Starter

A Cheese Lover’s Dream Come True!

Our culinary journey kicked off with the Lancashire Cheese Fritter starter, and it was an absolute triumph. The dish was a perfect marriage of textures and flavours, showcasing the locally sourced Lancashire cheese at its finest. The exterior boasted a delectably crispy golden-brown coating that provided a delightful crunch with every bite. Cutting into the fritter revealed a molten, oozy interior of warm, cheese and potato that was pure bliss. The accompanying dipping sauce of Piccalilli (Yes, the dipping sauce is a bit far stretched, but it works, I love it.) has a harmonious blend of tangy and slightly sweet notes. It added a wonderful contrast that elevated the dish even further. The portion size of 3 was just right. Leaving us craving for more while still leaving ample room for the main course.

Crispy Chilli Beef Salad Main Course

A Symphony of Flavours and Textures

The Crispy Chilli Beef Salad main course was a masterclass in culinary finesse. This dish expertly combined contrasting elements to create a symphony of flavours and textures that danced on the palate. The beef served hot with hot noodles was flawlessly cooked. It was coated in a tantalising glaze that struck a perfect balance between sweet and spicy. Each bite delivered a satisfying crunch that gave way to succulent, tender meat beneath. The salad was a vibrant medley of fresh lettuce and chilli. This added a refreshing crispness that complemented the richness of the beef. The zesty dressing of Soy, Coriander, lemon, Sesame and Cashew nuts tied everything together. Infusing a burst of brightness that elevated the dish to new heights. This main course was not only a treat for the taste buds but also a visual delight. Showcasing the chef’s impeccable attention to detail.

Overall Impression

An Unforgettable Culinary Adventure

The Farmers Arms is a haven for food enthusiasts seeking an exceptional dining experience. The Lancashire Cheese Fritter starter and the Crispy Chilli Beef Salad main course exemplify the restaurant’s commitment to showcasing local ingredients in innovative and delectable ways. Each dish was a testament to the chef’s culinary prowess and creativity, leaving a lasting impression that will undoubtedly draw me back for more. Coupled with the charming ambience and attentive service, this dining establishment truly deserves a resounding five-star rating.
