New Brewery Arts
New Brewery Arts Cirencester

We came across the New Brewery Arts by accident. I don’t know how, as it’s a large place right in the middle of the town. We had been out on walking trips in the surrounding villages for a few days. We would then end up in Cirencester to buy food and walk about. After 2 days of walking around the town, we stumbled upon it.
The Cirencester Brewery buildings were once earmarked for demolition. However, a local group proposed the repair and conversion of two of the remaining buildings into craft workshops, and Cirencester Workshops opened in 1978. It’s been here for quite a while now. The artwork being produced by the craft makers is of high quality. The New Brewery Arts Centre is going to be around for a long time.
The Studios

The studios surrounding the site are alive with creativity, home to some of the finest artists and craft makers in the region. We stepped into Tracy Elphick’s painting studio, bursting with mixed-media still-life pieces. Her birds are captivating, full of character, while the flowers and jugs shine with joyful colour. Originals and prints are available for sale, perfect for art lovers. Next door, a glass-blowing factory dazzles with glowing furnaces and skilled artisans shaping molten glass into elegant vases and bowls. Across the courtyard, Daniella Wilson Dunn works mainly on commission, crafting stunning panels—both traditional and contemporary—for private homes and grand public buildings alike.
Staff Team
The New Brewery Arts’ small but passionate staff team brings a wealth of experience from the arts, education, retail, and charity sectors. Supported by a dedicated group of Trustees, they collaborate closely with the on-site makers and tutors to keep creativity thriving throughout the centre. The first floor is home to a welcoming café serving fresh soups, vibrant salads, hearty platters, sandwiches, and delicious cakes—all beautifully presented. When we visited, the café was buzzing with locals and visitors enjoying the lively atmosphere. Unfortunately, it was too busy for us to stop for a bite or a cuppa, but we’re already planning a return visit to experience it properly next time.
